Very Nice at Midday; A Little Hotter on Sunday

| August 24, 2024 @ 11:47 am

As we are heading to the noon hour in Central Alabama, skies are mainly sunny across the region and temperatures are already up in the upper 70s to the mid 80s Montgomery was the warm spot at 85 degrees, while the cool spot as Alexander City at 79 degrees. Birmingham was at a nice 82 degrees. However, it will get hot today, with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s to the lower 90s, as skies will remain mainly sunny. For this evening and tonight, we’ll have clear skies with overnight lows reaching the 60s.

Other than the temperatures being a few degrees warmer, your Sunday will pretty much mirror today’s weather. Skies will be mainly sunny with highs in the lower to mid 90s. The good news is that humidity values will be low, so the heat index will be rather close to the actual temperature. Enjoy the weekend, because we get into the heat bubble for the work week ahead, as some locations will e hotter than 100 degrees.

And, as stated in this morning’s video, all is quiet for now across the North Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, and no new tropical activity is expected to form within the next seven days. While we’ll take the quiet for now, we are approaching the peak of hurricane season, which is September 10th.
