Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Barbour County

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for central Barbour County in southeastern Alabama until 7:45 PM CDT.

At 7:04 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected over Barbour County Public Lake Dam, located 11 miles southeast of Midway, and moving southeast at 35 mph.

The storm is producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, which could result in damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.

Communities likely to be impacted include Eufaula, Clayton, Gaino, Texasville, Richards Crossroads, White Oak, Millers Ford, Batesville, Clayton Municipal Airport, Lugo, and Baker Hill.

Residents in these areas should take immediate precautions and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
