Dangerous Storms across Parts of East Central/Southeast Alabama; New Warnings Issued

This storm extending from east of Alexander city to Dadeville and Camp Hill is still showing signs of possible destructive winds up to 70 mph +.  Embedded large hail signatures as well.  New warnings have been posted.

The following counties are now under a warning until 530pm: East central Elmore , Western Lee, Central Macon, Southeastern Tallapoosa, Southwestern Chambers

The warning for Northeast Emore and Tallapoosa still runs until 445pm.

If you are in these area please shelter in place.

The storm upstream near Goodwater has also become severe and new warning for parts of Clay, Coosa and Tallapoosa counties.

* At 424 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Camp Hill,
moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Milstead, Franklin, Waverly, Reeves Airport, Lake Tuskegee, Auburn
University, Tuskegee National Forest, Liverpool, Liberty City,
Tallapoosa City, Southern Lake Martin, Loachapoka, Uphapee Creek,
and Chewacla State Park.

FOR NORTHEASTERN ELMORE AND CENTRAL TALLAPOOSA COUNTIES…

At 430 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Camp Hill,
moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Alexander City, Tallassee, Dadeville, Camp Hill, Jacksons’ Gap,
Waverly, Martin Dam, Eastern Lake Martin, Liberty City, Northern Lake
Martin, Southern Lake Martin, Wind Creek State Park, Still Waters
Resort, Western Lake Martin, Susannah Crossing, Maxwell Gunter
Recreation Area, Yates Dam, Blue Creek Marina, Horseshoe Bend
National Military Park, and Dare Park.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
