Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Talladega County Until 345 PM CDT.

Storms are starting to strengthen and we now have a severe thunderstorm warning for the cell near Alpine Bay Resort.  This storm moving to the southeast at 30 mph.  Please be safe.

 

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Central Talladega County in east central Alabama…

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 259 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Alpine Bay
Resort, or 7 miles west of Talladega, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Talladega, Waldo, Alpine Bay Resort, Winterboro, Alpine, Logan
Martin Lake, Country Club Estates, Chandler Springs, and Howells
Cove.
