Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Clay County Until 615 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Clay County, Alabama, effective until 6:15 PM CDT.

At 5:25 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected 8 miles southwest of Ashland, moving east at 40 mph.

The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny-size hail. These conditions could cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Affected areas include Lineville, Ashland, Barfield, Cleveland Crossroads, Cragford, Millerville, Mellow Valley, and Motley. Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building to ensure safety.
