Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Pickens County until 545pm CDT

We are certainly finishing off our Friday on an active note! Storms across central Alabama are strong to severe. The latest warning from the NWS is for NE Pickens County near Reform. This intensifying storm could produce winds clocked at 60 mph. Embedded hail up to penny size. A LOT of cloud to ground lightning with all the storms firing. Additional storms are building back in Mississippi. When thunder roars go indoors! Try to delay some of your travel around town until some of these storms ease.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northeastern Pickens County in west central Alabama…

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 455 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Reform,
moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Gordo, Reform, Lubbub, Shaw, North Pickens Airport, and McShan.
