Canceled – Severe T-Storm Warning for Parts of Coosa, Elmore, Tallapoosa Co. Until 7PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Elmore County, central Tallapoosa County, and southeastern Coosa County in east central Alabama, effective until 7:00 PM CDT. As of 6:08 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wind Creek State Park, or near Alexander City, and is moving southeast at 25 mph. This storm is bringing hazardous 60 mph wind gusts that could cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Areas affected include Alexander City, Dadeville, Camp Hill, Jacksons’ Gap, Martin Dam, Eastern Lake Martin, Western Lake Martin, Northern Lake Martin, Highway 9, Highway 22, Southern Lake Martin, Kowaliga Bridge, Wind Creek State Park, Still Waters Resort, Fishpond, Susannah Crossing, Maxwell Gunter Recreation Area, Blue Creek Marina, Ray, Dare Park, and Yates Reservoir.
