Showers and Storms A Little More Widespread Than Expected

Showers and storms have become a little more widespread in areas northwest of I-59 this afternoon.

The strongest storms are in Sumter County in West Central Alabama. They are near Emelle and Livingston. The storm near Livingston may even produce some very small hail. It also has 17 flashes per minute.

The next strongest is near Cullman

Others are over parts of Lawrence, Franklin, Marion and northern Lamar Counties.

The stronger storms are capable of very heavy rain, gusty winds to 40 mph, and deadly lightning. If you hear thunder, go indoors immediately.

Everything is moving northeast at 20 mph.
