A team of 350 Alabama Power linemen and support personnel, as well as 300 contractors, have worked around the clock this week to help restore power for customers in the Houston, Texas, area ravaged by Hurricane Beryl.

And residents there have been just as diligent in expressing their appreciation – in person, on makeshift signs, in phone calls and by posting dozens of messages to Alabama Power’s Facebook page.

In just 24 hours, one Facebook post about Alabama Power crews assisting in Houston had more than 4,500 “likes,” was shared more than 500 times and had almost 1,000 comments.
