1 p.m. Advisory: Beryl Now Category Four with top winds 130 mph
The 1 p.m. advisory is out for Beryl. Top winds are up to 130 mph. Central pressure is down to 960 millibars.
Latest impacts from the official forecast:
Grenada: winds could reach 137 mph with gusts to 166 mph. Peak winds will be around 930 a.m. CDT and last an hour. The center would be within 17 miles at closest point of approach, which would put them in the eyewall. Tropical storm force winds will begin that around 5 a.m. tomorrow.
Winds at St. Vincent, Tobago, Barbados, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad will be in the strong tropical storm force category. TS force winds will begin during the morning hours, from just after midnight at Barbados, to 2 a.m. at Tobago, to 5 a.m. in St. Vincent, to 830 a.m. at Saint Lucia.
Of course, any jog in the track of the eye could bring hurricane conditions including extreme hurricane conditions to any of the islands in the hurricane warning area including Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago,.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for Tobago, where winds could reach tropical storm force is the track deviates a little further south.
The disturbance in the southwestern Gulf is getting better organized and a tropical depression may be forming more on it shortly.
