Brief Weather Check at Just Before 8 pm

| June 5, 2024 @ 7:58 pm

A jagged line of strong to severe thunderstorms are moving eastward across North/Central Alabama that has prompted several severe thunderstorm warnings and two tornado warnings. We do have some damage reports coming in, but we’ll update you on those a little later when things slow a little.

We have plenty of instability across the area, mainly in the 2,500-3,500 J/kg range, which is well more than enough for thunderstorm development and longevity. Any storm that has the ability to climb in the atmosphere will have the ability to bring strong winds, and may possibly spin up a brief tornado.

A marginal risk is up for much of North/Central Alabama, mainly for a few more hours. Stay weather aware!
