EXPIRED Severe T-Storm Warning — Parts of Franklin Co. Until 7:45 pm

The National Weather Service in Huntsville, Alabama, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Franklin County in northwestern Alabama, effective until 7:45 PM CDT. At 6:53 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Tremont, approximately 11 miles northwest of Hamilton, moving northeast at 40 mph. The storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts, as indicated by radar. These winds can cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Areas that may be affected include Russellville, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Belgreen, Vina, Hodges, Pogo, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Atwood, and Duketon. Residents in these locations are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection.
