Strong Storms Across Central Alabama

| May 18, 2024 @ 6:08 pm

Here is the radar just past 6 pm:

The strongest storm is in southern Clay, northern Coosa, and Tallapoosa Counties.

Another strong on is in Chilton County moving toward Coosa and Elmore Counties.

Be alert for strong gusty winds, heavy rain, lightning and some small hail.

All storms are moving east southeast at 30 mph.

There are a few heavy showers over northwest Alabama as well. They may have a harder time developing since the airmass is mostly worked over. But the convection allowing models did predict a few addition storms this evening behind the main line.
