Severe thunderstorms are occurring this afternoon in northern parts of the Birmingham Matro area from Gardendale to MOrris and Tafford.

Hail of over 1.5″ may be approaching AL-79 north of Pinson.

Winds could also gust to 60 mph.

* At 316 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near County Line,
or 8 miles northeast of Gardendale, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
