Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Macon County Until 115 pm

An intense thunderstorm has developed along US-80 in Macon County between Shorter and Tuskegee. It is moving east at 35 mph. It has hail to the size of ping pong balls. Damaging winds as well. The low level helicity is around 70 m2/s2, which is insufficient for tornado development.

These storms will only continue to strengthen as we go through the afternoon and the line of storms drops south.

* Until 115 PM CDT.
* At 1228 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Shorter, or
near Milstead, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Tuskegee, Shorter, Liverpool, Davisville, Society Hill, Cross Keys,
Creek Stand, and Warriorstand.
