Tornado Watch Issued for Areas to the West and Northwest of Alabama

The SPC and local NWS Offices have issued a tornado watch until 7 p.m. CST this evening.

There is no watch in effect for any part of Alabama but tornado watches are expected later today. The main severe weather is expected after 5 p.m., but there could be a few severe thunderstorms earlier than that over northwestern sections.

A PDS Tornado Warning is in effect for Weakley and Henry Counties in Northwest Tennessee. A large and confirmed tornado is on the ground southeast of Martin, TN.

Emergency management reports no damage in Dresden, TN, where a TDS and strong circulation was indicated.
