It’s pecan season. And for many Alabamians, Priester’s is the name they associate with this traditional, holiday-time delicacy.
It’s hard to pass by Priester’s Pecans. The ultimate pitstop for folks traveling Interstate 65, Priester’s is a warm haven full of free samples, sweets and light shopping. But how did the well-loved landmark get its start?
“Fort Deposit, Alabama, is located 35 miles south of Montgomery. The little town of 1,200 sprouted during the Revolutionary War around a military ammunition depository. And around the little town sprouted pecan trees. Lots of them.
