Skies Are Clearing at Midday; Go Out & Safely See the Eclipse

Skies are starting to clear out from west to east as we are approaching the lunchtime hours on this fabulous Saturday. The good news is that most will now be able to see the peak and the second half of the solar eclipse that is currently taking place. Temperatures are not too bad either as the 11 am roundup showed upper 60s to the lower 70s across Central Alabama.

Clouds will continue to decrease through the rest of the day and afternoon highs will be in the 70s across the area. Cooler air will start flowing in tonight, and we’ll start to see an increase in clouds during the late night and overnight hours. Lows will bottom out in the upper 40s to the mid 50s.

Sunday will be a much cooler day than today, and it will feature mostly cloudy skies. A few spots could see some sprinkles, but nearly everyone will stay dry. Highs in the 60s.

Sean has weakened into a depression this morning, and will soon transition into a post-tropical remnant low on Sunday. Sean is no threat to land.

And over the Eastern Tropical Atlantic (Invest 94L), showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands have become more concentrated, and better organized during the past several hours. Environmental conditions are becoming more conducive for further development, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next couple of days while the system moves westward or west-northwestward across the central and western tropical Atlantic.
