A Brief Update at 4:30 pm; New Warning for Portions of Chambers & Lee Counties
Nearly all of the storms have weakened back below severe criteria for the moment, except the only warned storm of the state over portions of Cherokee and Cleburne counties. The warning is set to expire at 4:45 pm.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has just been issued for portions of Chambers and Lee counties until 5:45 pm this evening. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Cusseta to near Sturkie to near Notasulga, moving southeast at 20 mph.
Locations to be impacted by these severe storms are Auburn, Opelika, Notasulga, Smiths, Smiths Station, Waverly, Cusseta, Beulah, Beans Mill, Auburn University, River View, Beauregard, Sturkie, Bleecker, Fairfax, Oak Bowery, Griffen Mill, Ladonia, Huguley, and Loachapoka..

The Severe T-Storm Watch has been cancelled for all of North Alabama, but continues for the Central Alabama counties until 6 pm.
