Reports of Large Trees Going Down in Northern Jefferson County; New Warning for Birmingham Metro

| August 7, 2023 @ 3:11 pm

Our Scanner Monitor John Talbot is hearing reports from fire departments across northern Jefferson County saying that large trees are going down in their jurisdictions.

Everyone in the warnings needs to be in a safe place inside a safe structure: lowest floor, center of the building, away from windows. Do not be driving!

Any of these storms are capable of producing sudden downburst with winds to over 60 mph.

Not the new warning to the south that includes the rest of the Birmingham Metro all the way over to Oxford.
