Alabama Update at 3:05 pm
Severe thunderstorm continues to affect the Birmingham Metro. Severe al reports of trees down in Hoover, one at Shades Avenue and Hayden Street. Power pole snapped at 865 Shades Crest Road. Trees sown at Alford Ave and Oak Lane.
Trees were reported down in Graysville and along the Walker County side of the Taylors Ferry Bridget in western Jefferson County. Also in Walker County, Oakman Fire responding to power lines down at Cobb St and Water Oak St.
Numerous reports of trees down in Franklin County.

A line of storms that appears to have evolved into a mesoscale convective system extends from a comma head over Northwest Alabama near Town Creek, extending to Moulton, to Jasper, to Coker, to Aliceville. Severe thunderstorm warnings blanket the path in front of these storms which are moving east at 30 mph.
A new severe thunderstorm warning has just been issued for northeastern Tuscaloosa and southwestern Jefferson Counties from the MCS storms.
Trees blocking I-65 at MM 328 in Morgan County.
A Norfolk Southern freight train struck a tree blocking tracks just west of Leighton in Colbert County.
Severe storms now in the I-85 corridor as well…warning for the Auburn, Opelika and Tuskegee area.
The severe thunderstorm watch has been cancelled for Lamar and Marion. It continues for the rest of the northern half of Alabama until 8 p.m.
