Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Marion, Lamar, and Fayette Counties until 230 pm

The storms should reach Sulligent and Detroit before 1:30 pm, Hamilton, Guin, and Winfield between 1:40 and 1:50 pm, and Brilliant by just after 2 pm.

Be in a substantial structure as these storms approach.

Winds are indicated to over 50 mph just above the surface and 60 mph wind gusts are possible.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Marion County in northwestern Alabama…
Northwestern Fayette County in west central Alabama…
Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 230 PM CDT.

* At 113 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Pratts Friendship to near Caledonia in Mississippi,
moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
