Severe Thunderstorm Watch Possible Soon Across North and Central Alabama

The SPC issued a mesoscale discussion about 30 minutes ago outlining their thoughts on the developing severe weather situation across Alabama and eastern Mississippi.

A severe thunderstorm has developed southwest of Tupelo in northeastern Mississippi. The storm is moving to the east northeast and shows tell tale signs of what we can expect this afternoon. Multicellular thunderstorms developing in a high CAPE, very low shear environment with powerful, water-laden updrafts that an easily collapse and cause damaging downbursts.

They say a severe thunderstorm watch is possible and put the probability at about 60%.
