Alabama Weather Situation at 4:50 pm

Severe storms are lined up along I-20 east of Birmingham from Moody to Lincoln. This is a massive complex of multicellular thunderstorms putting down a tremendous amount of rain.

An areal food advisory was just issued for St. Clair County. One hour rainfall amounts are approaching 3 inches east of Moody! A flash flood warning may be needed soon.

Other storms are located near Anniston as well. Large hail and strong winds were reported in Trussville and Center Point.

Trees and power lines were reported at Pinson according to John Talbot. One tree was through a roof. Gas main leaking also.

Severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Cherokee County.

In western Alabama, storms are occurring along US-78/I-22 between Guin and Sumiton.
