Heat Advisories for Western Alabama
Heat index values in excess of 100 degrees are affecting the western half of Alabama at this hour.
The NWS in Huntsville has issued a heat advisory for Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Lawrence Counties. The heat index value at Muscle Shoals is now 107F.
Birmingham just followed suit with one for Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties.
Tuscaloosa was at 105F. Birmingham is at 97F.
