West Alabama Warnings…Big Hail is the Issue…No One on I-20/59 Now South of Tuscaloosa!

Big hail cores are shwoing up in gray on the VIL image on the right side of the graphic.

Winds could also reach 70-80 mph in the stronger storms.

New severe thunderstorm warning for Hale County. Folks from Akron, Cypress and Moundville need to prepare for huge hail to 3 inches in diameter. Do not be out as this storm approaches and do not be driving it will break all of the windows out of your vehicle.

The storms are nearing I-20/59 and we don’t want anybody driving through there. Please reach out to anyone you know who might be.

The worst of this storm is west of Fosters in Tuscaloosa County down to north of Knoxville.

Storm approaching Sumter County has prompted a warning. Folks in Livingston and York may get the brunt of this one. It is capable of 1.5″ hail now, but it is in an area of stronger instability and has lots of shear as steep lapse rates, so it will likely intensify.

New severe thunderstorm warning just issued for a large part of Pickens, Greene, and Sumter Counties as well.
