Dangerous Storms Pushing Through Franklin and Marion Counties: Be Alert for Damaging Wind and Possible Tornado

| June 14, 2023 @ 12:25 pm

What appears to be an organizing MCS or mesoscale convective system is pushing out of eastern Mississippi and across Franklin and Winston Counties.

It is pushing rapidly southeastward and will move into Winston and northern Walker Counties over the next hour.

Damaging winds are a real possibility and we can’t rule out a tornado as helicity values are locally around 200 m2/s2 over Marion and Franklin Counties.
