Midday Nowcast: Terrific Tuesday Weather
Another gorgeous late May Day across Alabama with a mainly sunny sky, low humidity, and below average temperatures; upper 70s and lower 80s. Rain chances are near zero today, but things slowly begin to change the rest of the week.
ACROSS THE USA: Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms capable of gusty winds, hail, and isolated flash flooding will be possible across parts of the Plains through Wednesday. Critical fire weather is possible on Wednesday in southwest New Mexico. Excessive rainfall may result in some flooding in the northern High Plains late this week.
REST OF THE WEEK: Mostly sunny weather continues tomorrow through Friday with highs in the low to mid 80s. Moisture levels begin to rise, meaning it will be more humid, and that will allow for some scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours. The chance of any one spot seeing rain these days will be in the the 20-30% range.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The weather stays quiet; we expect mostly sunny days, fair nights, and only standard summertime chances of rain and storms, around 20% daily. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. The weather pattern looks to persist into much of next week as well. Pretty standard weather for early June in Alabama.
IN THE TROPICS: All is quiet in the Atlantic basin and no tropical cyclone development is expected through the upcoming weekend. Hurricane season officially starts Thursday.
