Wind Advisory Expanded into West Central Alabama

The wind advisories from the NSW Birmingham have been extended til 4 p.m. and counties added.

The added counties are Bibb, Chilton, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa.

Winds are gusty around the surface low which is south of Meridian MS at this hour. The pressure at Key Field in Meridian is down to 999 millibars, or 29.50 inches.

Winds are gusting to between 30-40 over South Central Alabama. Birmingham is gusting to 24 mph, Tuscaloosa to 29 mph.

The gusty winds can catch you off guard if you are driving, so keep both hands on the wheel!
