Tornado Watch Issued for Much of Central Alabama Until 8 am

The Storm Prediction Center and NWS Birmingham have issued a Tornado Watch effective immediately until 8 am for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa.

NWS Birmingham continues a Tornado Watch until 7 am for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston counties. That watch also is continued by NWS Huntsville for Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties.
