Midday Nowcast: Warmer with Passing Clouds
Not the crystal clear sky we saw yesterday, but still we are seeing plenty of sunshine for our Wednesday. We are seeing mid to upper level clouds cross the Alabama sky today, but these are not impacting our forecast.
It is warmer today as temperates are climbing into the low and mid 70s across North and Central Alabama. Tonight, will not be as cold due to the clouds, lows should be in the low to mid 50s.
ACROSS THE USA: Dry, gusty winds will continue elevated to critical fire weather conditions across the High Plains into the Southwest U.S. through Saturday. A few severe thunderstorms are possible today and Thursday over Oklahoma and Kansas. The West will remain unsettled through late week as another Pacific storm system sweeps through the region with rain and mountain snow
SPLENDID SPRING WEATHER: The upper ridge strengthens, meaning our weather stays dry with the continued warming trend. With plenty of sunshine, highs surge into the low 80s tomorrow, followed by mid 80s Friday.
WARM WEEKEND WEATHER: The warmest weekend so far this year across Alabama is ahead. Both days will feature more sun than clouds with highs in the mid to upper 80s Saturday and Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: Moisture returns ahead of a front on Monday, and some showers are in the forecast late Monday and into Tuesday. Rain amounts will be fairly light due to limited moisture, and this doesn’t look like a severe weather setup. Behind the front, the rest of next week looks cooler with highs in the 70s.
