A Quick Weather Check at 6 am
It’s a noisy start to your Saturday as thunderstorms with plenty of lightning continue to push southward as the cells within this activity move east. At this point, the storms are staying below severe limits, but they are producing plenty of heavy rainfall.
Areal Flood Advisories are in effect for portions of Winston County until 7:30 am, and for Blount, Jefferson, and Walker counties until 8 am.
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Franklin and Lawrence counties until 6:30 am.
Gusty winds and small hail are possible with any stronger storm, and if any storm makes it up to severe limits, the main threats will be from hail up to 1-inch in diameter and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. There is no tornado threat with this activity.
