Frost Advisory Added for East Central Alabama
Skies are clear across Alabama tonight and temperatures are dropping with the radiational cooling afforded by the loss of the sun and the lack of cloudiness.
Temperatures are in the 40s in most locales, with just a few spots hanging on to 50F. The coolest spots in the state right now are Fort Payne and Gadsden at 41F.
The NWS in Birmingham has issued a Frost Advisory for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Randolph, St. Clair, and Talladega Counties through the overnight hours until 8 a.m. This joins the Frost Advisory already in effect for the Tennessee Valley Counties served by the NWS Huntsville including Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan.
Sheltered valleys will be the most susceptible to frost overnight.
Lows by morning will be in the lower and middle 30s in most spots east of I-65 with upper 30s mostly to the west of the interstate.
