Tornado Watch Continues for Barbour Co. in Central Alabama Until 8 am

NWS Birmingham cancels the Tornado Watch for Pike County as the threat of severe weather has exited the county, but continues the watch for Barbour County until 8 am.


NWS Birmingham extends the Tornado Watch to add Barbour County and continues the watch for Pike County until 8 am.


NWS Birmingham issues a Tornado Watch for Barbour County in the extreme southeastern part of Central Alabama until 8 am. Here is the text from the SPC:

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
Southern Alabama
Western Panhandle of Florida
Coastal Waters

* Effective this Wednesday morning from 125 AM until 800 AM CST.

* Primary threats include…
A couple tornadoes possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY…Scattered thunderstorms will spread across the watch area
through the early morning hours along and south of a front. A few
more supercells are possible, with a tornado and damaging-wind
threat.
