Alabama NewsCenter — Alabama Power recognized among leading companies in diversity

Alabama Power was honored Feb. 10 by the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ) as a leading company in diversity at its annual Diversity & Inclusion Awards event, along with Balch and Bingham LLP, Maynard Cooper & Gale PC, Protective Life and others. Protective Life garnered the top spot in the “Large Companies” category.

The awards celebrate organizations and individuals who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace and throughout the community.

Workplace culture can have long-term impacts on an organization and its employees. According to a Deloitte study, diverse and inclusive workforces tend to outperform their competition, boasting lower turnover rates, greater productivity, higher profitability and higher customer satisfaction.
