The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southern Walker County in central Alabama…

* Until 1000 AM CST.

* At 908 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Boley
Springs, or 18 miles southwest of Cordova, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Parrish, Oakman, Gorgas Steam Plant,
Burnwell, Beloit, Quinton, Gorgas, Goodsprings, Barney, West
Corona, The Wye, Tutwiler and Corona.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Birmingham.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
