The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…
Pickens County in west central Alabama…
Fayette County in west central Alabama…
Southeastern Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 930 AM CST.

* At 834 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Fayette to near Ethelsville to near Deerbrook,
moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Tuscaloosa, Northport, Fayette, Aliceville, Gordo, Reform,
Millport, Carrollton, Pickensville, Holt, Lake View, Brookwood,
Coaling, Vance, Berry, Coker, Kennedy, Belk, Ethelsville and
McMullen.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Birmingham.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
