Cloudy & Drizzly This Afternoon… & Did I Mention That It Was a Little Chilly?
Well, it may not be showing up on our radar as of 1:53 pm, there is drizzle falling over portions of North/Central Alabama this afternoon. My drive from Vestavia Hills northward on I-65 featured bouts of having to drive with the wipers on quick delay as the drizzle was falling. Temperatures as of the 1 pm roundup were in the 50s across the area, with only one spot recording 60 degrees, and that was Troy. Haleyville was the cool spot at 51 degrees. Birmingham was at 59 degrees. Those temperatures will not get much higher, as highs are only forecast to reach the upper 50s to the lower 60s.
Any drizzle and light rain will continue to transition eastward throughout the rest of the day, with only a small chance for those occurring east of a line from Hamilton to Clanton to Eufaula. Locations west of that should remain dry. By tonight, most, if not all, of the precipitation will have exited the area and moved over into Georgia. Eventually, clouds will start decreasing by the overnight hours, with the low reaching the mid-40s to the lower 50s.
Sunday will be a much brighter and warmer day across the area, skies will become mainly sunny by the afternoon and highs in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. It will be cool for Trick-or-Treat time on Sunday evening, with clear skies and temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 50s by 7 pm.
