TODAY’S WEATHER
As of the 10 am round-up, temperatures were in the mid-70s to the lower 80s across the area underneath mostly sunny skies for most. Some southern locations have partly to mostly cloudy skies. Troy is the warm spot at 81 degrees while Pell City, Sylacauga, and Talladega are tied as the cool spots at 75 degrees. Birmingham was at 79 degrees.

We’ll continue to have mostly sunny skies across the area with afternoon highs reaching the 80s across the area. There may be one or two stray showers form during the main heating of the day south of the I-85 corridor in the southeastern portions of the area, but nearly everyone should remain dry. For tonight, skies will be mostly clear and it will be very pleasant outdoors. Lows will drop into the upper 50s to the upper 60s.

SUNDAY’S WEATHER
Same story as today as skies will be mainly sunny with only a very slight chance of an afternoon shower or storm south of the I-85 corridor. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-80s to the lower 90s across the area. We’ll have outstanding weather for the fireworks shows across the area as skies will be mainly clear with temperatures remaining mild. Lows will eventually reach the 60s across the area.

THE TROPICS
Unless there is a major shift in the forecast track on now Tropical Storm Elsa, we will see no effects on our weather from her. The rest of the North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico is free from any tropical mischief and no new tropical cyclones are expected over the next five days. The latest on Tropical Storm Elsa is in the previous post. The next update will be out around 1 pm.
