A Gorgeous Easter Sunday is Progress Across Alabama

Alabama has a case of severe clear today, with cloudless skies across the entire state on this Easter Sunday.

Temperatures are approaching 70F in many locations. heading for highs in the upper 60s to the north, and in the lower 70s across Central Alabama.

Don’t expect anything more than a stray cloud to work its way into West Alabama from Mississippi this afternoon.

Lows tonight will be in the 40s, generally between 42-46F.

Monday and Tuesday look even warmer than earlier thought with sunshine-filled skies and just a few clouds on Tuesday. Highs on Monday will be in the middle and upper 70s. Highs on Tuesday will approach 80 degrees! Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s Tuesday morning.

SPECIAL NOTE
If you have never observed the passage of the International Space Station, you have really missed out. Tonight, you will have your chance. Be outside tonight at 8:46 p.m., looking to the northwest. The station will appear as a fast-moving bright light, impressively large. It will reach a height of 77 degrees on the dome of the sky, disappearing to the west southwest. NEXT RAIN CHANCES: A developing trough to our west and its attendant surface low will push a band of rain and thunderstorms into Alabama late Wednesday night into Thursday. The day Wednesday will be warm, and breezy, with highs in the lower 80s. Clouds will increase late in the day ahead of the rain and storms. Severe weather is not anticipated Wednesday night. Before the cold front arrives Thursday afternoon or evening, storms will form again. Some of those could be strong to severe Thursday afternoon and evening, with damaging winds and hail the primary threat. A couple of tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
