Flash Flood Warning for Tuscaloosa Co. Until 5:30 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Central Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…

* Until 530 PM CDT.

* At 325 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Doppler radar.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Tuscaloosa, Northport, Holt, Lake View, Brookwood, Coker, Deerlick
Creek Campgrounds, Lake Wildwood, University Mall, Bryant Denny
Stadium, McFarland Mall, Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Bull City,
Abernant, Tuscaloosa Regional Airport, Tannehill Ironworks State
Park, Fleetwood, Holt Lock And Dam, Peterson and Lake Harris.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
