Automotive supplier Valeo North America announced that it will invest $5 million in a facility in Jefferson County, creating 70 jobs and providing another boost to the Birmingham region’s presence in the auto manufacturing industry.

The Birmingham Business Alliance announced Valeo’s plans.

“Valeo North America is pleased to announce the opening of a new facility in Bessemer,” the Valeo North America management team said in a statement. “The city of Bessemer, the Birmingham Business Alliance, and the state of Alabama demonstrated an attractive business-friendly, pro-jobs attitude.
