Strong Storms Now Affecting Tallapoosa, Calhoun, Clay, Talladega, Coosa, & Cleburne Counties

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR EASTERN TALLADEGA…CALHOUN…
NORTHERN TALLAPOOSA…SOUTHWESTERN CLEBURNE…NORTHEASTERN COOSA AND
CLAY COUNTIES UNTIL 300 AM CST…

At 210 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Ohatchee to Moriah. Movement was east at
50 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Anniston, Oxford, Talladega, Alexander City, Jacksonville, Heflin,
Lineville, Ashland, Goodwater, Kellyton, West End-Cobb Town, Cobb
Town, Fort McClellan, Saks, Weaver, Munford, Ohatchee, New Site,
Hobson City and Waldo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
