New Tornado Watch Issued Until 8:00 pm Replacing Watch Issued This Morning

• Fayette Lamar, Marion, Walker, Winston counties in Central Alabama
• Cullman, Madison, Morgan, Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone counties in North Alabama

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
Northwest and North-Central Alabama
Far Northeast Mississippi
Southern Middle Tennessee

* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until
800 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include…
A couple of tornadoes possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible

SUMMARY…Lingering clusters may still pose a risk for a couple
brief tornadoes and locally damaging winds into the early evening.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles
east and west of a line from 60 miles north of Huntsville AL to 85
miles south-southwest of Muscle Shoals AL. For a complete depiction

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

REMEMBER…A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.
