CANCELED Flash Flood Warning for Parts of Franklin & Lawrence Co. Until 9:00 am

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Franklin AL County in northwestern Alabama…
Southwestern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 900 AM CDT.

* At 556 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Doppler radar.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Russellville, Moulton, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Littleville,
Belgreen, Vina, Hodges, Isbell, Spruce Pine, Rockwood, Tharptown,
Duketon, Newburg, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Little Bear Creek
Reservoir, Dempsey, Mt Hope, Atwood and Landersville.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
