Line of Strong Storms Affecting Jefferson, St. Clair, Talladega, Walker, Blount Co.

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHEASTERN WALKER…
NORTHEASTERN TALLADEGA…SOUTHERN BLOUNT…NORTHEASTERN JEFFERSON AND
ST. CLAIR COUNTIES UNTIL 915 PM CDT…

At 836 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Jasper to near Clay to Neely Henry Lake.
Movement was southeast at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Northeastern Birmingham, Oxford, Trussville, Gardendale, Pell City,
Irondale, Leeds, Moody, Rainbow City, Fultondale, Oneonta,
Springville, Odenville, Sumiton, Dora, Dallas, Center Point, Clay,
Pinson and Tarrant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
