At 7:00 pm, A Sudden Jump in Severe Activity Over North/Central Alabama

| June 27, 2020 @ 7:10 pm

Radar check at 7:00 pm shows that the only thunderstorm activity in the area recently had as many as three tornado warnings on them, but since two have either been canceled or allowed to expire. The other warning involved is a Severe thunderstorm warning for Blount County until 7:30 pm.

This has been sort of unexpected as conditions were not conducive of tornado development, but gusty winds were expected to be the main threat. But as we always say, expect the unexpected.

As I was typing this, a new tornado warning was issued for Cullman County until 7:30 pm and the severe thunderstorm warning was canceled for Blount County.

We’ll keep you covered through the rest of the evening.
