Flash Flood Warning: Cullman County Until 11:15 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Central Cullman County in north central Alabama…

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 820 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Two to three inches of rain
have already fallen, and another one to two inches of rainfall are
possible with another round of thunderstorms moving into the area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Cullman, Hanceville, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Dodge City, Garden
City, Colony, Phelan, Walter and Wilburn.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in
the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
