EXPIRED – Flash Flood Warning For Parts Of Colbert & Lauderdale Counties Until 10:45 AM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
South central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Southern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 1045 AM CDT.

* At 746 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Half an inch to an inch of rain
has already fallen on saturated ground. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Cherokee, St.
Florian, Underwood-Petersville, Malone, Posey Loop and Northwest
Alabama Regional Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
