Areal Flood Warning For Parts Of Dekalb, Jackson, Madison, Marshall Counties Until 11:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Jackson County in northeastern Alabama…
North central Marshall County in northeastern Alabama…
Northeastern Madison County in north central Alabama…
Northeastern DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 1130 PM CST Monday.

* At 501 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain had fallen over the area. Emergency managers
report that the heavy rain has caused flooding with multiple road
closures across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Northern Huntsville, Scottsboro, Bridgeport, Moores Mill,
Meridianville, Hazel Green, Henagar, Stevenson, Sylvania and
Hollywood.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area overnight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
